If your date of birth is between 2/9/1935 - 31/8/1937 and 2/9/1942 - 1/9/1945 then please call the surgery to book in for shingles vaccination

Extra Appointments

NHS England has released a small amount of money to support the winter pressures in general practice locally. This will provide on, on average, about 24 extra appointments on Mondays until the end of February (About a 3% increase during this period). These have to be book on the day appointments and will be released by reception in line with the other book on the day appointments.

Our Nurse Practitioner is a member of the practice nursing team who has taken additional training and is able to treat a variety of minor ailments eg tonsillitis, eczema, ear infections and rashes, etc. The nurse practitioner offers a complementary source of care to that offered by the medical practitioners. If you wish to see Sister Pearson instead of a doctor, please arrange an appointment.

Our practice nurses offer a wide range of services such as taking cervical smears, performing ECGs, dressing wounds, managing leg ulcers, removing sutures, syringing ears, giving advice on travel, immunisation, contraception, care and prevention of heart disease etc. They also work extensively in the more formal surgery clinics eg diabetic, asthma, family planning, immunisation, well woman and well man. Their surgeries are daily by appointment.

Healthcare Assistants

We also employ one healthcare assistants, Denise Charlton, who perform blood pressure checks, ECGs, urine testing, weight management and health checks as well as collecting blood samples. Their surgeries are available by appointment.
