Extra Appointments

NHS England has released a small amount of money to support the winter pressures in general practice locally. This will provide on, on average, about 24 extra appointments on Mondays until the end of February (About a 3% increase during this period). These have to be book on the day appointments and will be released by reception in line with the other book on the day appointments.

Medical Receptionist Vacancy


An opportunity has arisen at Churchfields Surgery for a Medical Receptionist in our friendly and progressive GP practice.


Our medical receptionist team are the first point of contact for patients and visitors to the practice whether in person or on the phone: receiving, directing and assisting them in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional as well as helping with enquiries and responding to complaints.  Our team also provide assistance to the wider practice team: our GPs, Nurses and all colleagues.


Therefore, as this is a patient-facing role, you must have strong customer service skills, be an effective communicator; both face to face and on the phone, and have experience of working in a reception environment.


The hours are 37 hours per week, a job share may also be considered.
